A Winter in Tahoe

In the late fall and winter months, I was fortunate enough to be able to live with family in Tahoe. It was the perfect place to become centered with myself again. I wasn’t off-centered with myself because of people in my life or any specific reason, but my life was just so all over the place with moving. It was the perfect opportunity to just BE. This might all sound pretty deep for what it was, but I think it’s important to note times of growth in your life. And that’s what Tahoe did for me.

quality time, quality people

I was so lucky to have found a job that provided me a beautiful view everyday and great friendships. Working at Coffeebar allowed me to connect to random humans again. In a year of COVID craziness, it became so apparent to me how valuable human connections are…and how quickly it can get stripped away. So, being able to work at a coffee shop and talk to new human beings was a true gift. I made great connections with all of my coworkers as well. It’s really interesting to realize how once you get out of your bubble of home, comfort, and people you have known your whole life, how many cool connections you can make. I often felt when reflecting on my time there that it was like a whole new chapter in my book. I had all these new characters introduced into my life! And each one of them, I am so grateful for.

Not only did I spend great times with new friends, but I had some really great quality time with family and dogs. I think we can all relate to our newfound appreciation of spending time with family. It’s always been important to me, but it’s especially prioritized now. We all realized how truly important loved ones are to us when all of a sudden the world shut down. Though it has been a difficult and challenging year, It allowed all of us to reflect on that. I believe that’s a true gift…not to mention the importance of WALKS IN NATURE!!! A walk outside can take you out of a slump. Goes to show how we, humans, were designed to be outside.

I TURNED 20 !

I also celebrated Christmas and my 20th birthday in Tahoe with family. It was such an incredible time. If I’m being truly and brutally honest with myself, it was the first holiday/birthday season I had ZERO expectations and it was amazing. I felt so happy and grateful to just spend time with my family; and enjoy the beautiful Tahoe views.

Be present

We hear this saying time and time again, but it’s that way for a reason! When looking back on moments I felt most joyous, I always recall feeling fully present in that moment. Sometimes it’s hard, no doubt about that. We all have days that are just off, but it’s a great reminder to live intentionally, and love without judgement or expectation.
